I recently visited Monaghan with my son and a wonderful gentleman and his wife ( Jack and Ann Storey) came from Belfast to show my son and I around "the Billis" Glaslough where my mother was raised and went to school. Jack's wife knew the area quite well as she was raised there also. My mother was born at Corragh Maxwell which I understand is the place where the now ruins of Falkland Castle are located. The ruins are still standing as my son took pictures but I'm just curious if there are any drawings or paintings of the castle in existance as it once was. I understand too that the Reverend Henry Lyte the writer of the hymn "Abide with Me" stayed/lived there briefly as he married Ann Maxwell who's father once owner of the castle and lands. It's really a beautiful place although it's now a grazing pasture.
