McCleary, McLeary or MacCleary Families

Post by NJones » Sun Apr 12, 2009 2:43 am

Looking for anyone researching McCleary, McLeary or MacCleary Families in Ballybay Co Monaghan in the 1800's. Mary McLeary is the spelling we have. Her son Patrick Hamilton was born 1872 so she may have remarried to a McLeary some time after that. Hope to find someone else researching this area. :D

Hi. I'm sure that this came under a Hamilton search so here goes. My family has a tradition of Hamilton as a middle name. Please see my POST tday under Mcnamara, Trotter, Jebb, Gibson & Hamilton. We have two, possibly three, generations of William Hamilton Jebb. My gg grandfather (possibly with the Hamilton as middle name according to researcher) married in Monaghan in 1843. I know that the Jebb family were in that area & would imagine that we are looking at late 1800's early 1900's for a Hamilton marriage. I hope there is a connection here. Ann.
